A short introduction to the key aspects of data protection changes implemented by the new Electronic Communications regulations 2003
Understanding the new regulations is critical for those responsible for generating revenue through electronic channel marketing including those marketing using text-based communications
Jonathan's talk will include:
- The important changes brought by the new Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 and implications for online marketers
- How to manage the new ‘soft opt-in’ and the differences between B2B and B2C
- New definitions for Electronic mail including the inclusion of mobile text marketing
- The use of traffic data and location data for marketing purposes
- The CAP code

Jonathan Silverman
Before setting up gsa, Jonathan spent 16 years in senior sales and marketing management with Alfred Dunhill, STC Electronics, Montblanc and most recently Porsche Cars GB. Jonathan has client-side practical experience in troubleshooting areas such as business and margin development, retail management and people issues and has managed consultancy projects for Bentley Motors Ltd, Marsh McLennan, Tanner Krolle Ltd (formerly part of the Chanel Group) and Capita Consulting.
He presents regular seminars on Marketing and Data Protection for the Institute of Direct Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
